HD Radio Explained - 95.9 HD

HD Radio stations offer more listening options through the advent of new technology which allows a digital transmission to be broadcast over traditional radio waves. If a station broadcasts “in HD” (and right now only a few do), a single frequency is now capable of delivering up to four stations or streams of content in crystal clear sound. Most new cars/trucks have HD radios. KX96, CKDO, and The Wave can all be heard in HD.

To experience this in the Toronto-Durham area, tune an HD radio to 95.9 FM. You’ll see that KX-96 is available in digital quality on HD-1. Select HD-2 for The Wave or HD-3 for CKDO.  No static…no hiss…just clear, digital sound. Plus on-screen information such as: album art, song title and artist identification.

It’s time for a smarter radio. HD Radio devices receive a digital signal over traditional radio waves and require no internet connection or monthly fee. Enjoy HD Radio at home, on the road, and on the go. HD receivers can be factory installed with top automakers and are available from leading electronics brands.
